WHAT IS ARTISTA?
ARTISTA is a FREE theatre arts mentorship program for women who are interested in creating, collaborating and learning through theatre. ARTISTA is a safe environment to explore personal, artistic and creative development.
WHO IS ARTISTA FOR?
ARTISTA is for women between the ages of 16-21 who have an interest in exploring theatre, collaborating with new people and learning about theatre as an art and as a profession. ARTISTA participants do not need to have previous theatre or arts experience to participate in the program.
WHEN AND WHERE DOES ARTISTA TAKE PLACE?
ARTISTA takes place at the Georges-Vanier Cultural Centre (5 minute walk from the Lionel Groulx Metro)
ARTISTA takes place every Tuesday from 5-9pm from January 17th-May 4th, 2017 (15 weeks)
HOW DOES ARTISTA WORK?
ARTISTA participants (15 people) participate in 4 hour weekly workshops.
Each session starts with a free meal followed by a 3 hour theatre workshop led by professionals in the Montreal theatre community and female leaders in arts and non-arts related fields.
Over 15 weeks, participants tell stories that are woven into a collective creation/performance that is presented in front of an audience.
