Léda Davies has been an active member of Canada's professional theatre, dance, and circus scene for over a decade. Léda has performed across Canada and worldwide with some of Canada’s leading theatrical companies, selected theatre credits include Charlotte’s Web (Alberta Theatre Projects) Pride and Prejudice, (Theatre Calgary and the National Arts Center); Snow Angel (Quest Theatre, North America Tour); Project Whooping Crane (Green Fools, Japan Tour); Ghost Opera & Toothfairy (Old Trout Puppet Workshop, National Tour).
Leda has spent the past 6 years in Montreal, QC training with renowned coaches from Cirque du Soleil and the National Circus School. Her aerial circus skills have been featured in music videos, stage productions and outdoor festivals in Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, Calgary and Edmonton. With her company, the Screaming Goats Collective, Léda co-stares in Persephone Bound, an interdisciplinary production which combines text, aerial circus technique and live music, in a modern treatment of the Ancient Greek myth of the rape of Persephone. Leda is currently completing her MFA in Theatre Practice at the U of A, where she is investigating the imaginative potential of aerial circus movement in theatre. Visit: www.ledadavies.com
