Paula Wing

Paula is a playwright, actor, teacher and translator. She is delighted to be a Resident Artist Educator with YPT this season, and she’s excited about the premiere of her original play Risky Phil on the YPT mainstage. Paula is a Resident Artist at Soulpepper Theatre, and she teaches several playwriting courses at the Tarragon Theatre. In 2017, Paula’s translation of Stefano Massini’s Intractable Woman premiered in Montréal at Imago Theatre. A U.S. production is slated for 2018. She directed Someone Between by Chantria Tram for the Summerworks Festival and Soulpepper’s Shen Festival. Her adaptation of Laura Ingalls Wilder Christmas in the Territory is featured in Soulpepper’s 2017 holiday podcast series. Next spring, Paula’s musical adaptation of Margaret Mahy’s The Man Whose Mother Was a Pirate, originally commissioned and produced by YPT, will tour Eastern Ontario with Thousand Islands Playhouse (TIP). Paula will appear onstage at TIP next summer as Karole in The Canadian.
