Persephone Bound is a contemporary adaptation of the Greek myth of Persephone that uses stunning poetry and aerial circus work to explore a young woman’s journey of empowerment in the aftermath of surviving sexual assault. The play is a co-production between Imago Theatre and Geordie Theatre in association with Screaming Goats Collective.
At Eco-Anxiety on Montreal on Nov.1 at the National Theatre’s School’s Pauline Mcgibbon Studio, Montreal theatre artists will present a series of evocative short plays from around the world that address the devastating realities of climate change with stories exploring loss, anger, grief, anxiety, complicity, denial and accountability.
The Tropic of X tells the story of Maura and Mori, two street kid lovers and arcade freaks who live in a touristed wasteland at the end of the alphabet. Their love is mythic quicksilver hope - medicine in a toxic, cruel, and unrelenting world.
